DAVID COOPER

David Cooper is a Senior Lecturer in English at Manchester Metropolitan University and the founding co-director (with Rachel Lichtenstein) of the Centre for Place Writing. He has published widely on contemporary place writing, (digital) literary cartography, and Romantic landscape poetics; and he has been increasingly working on collaborative creative-critical approaches to place. His current research projects include The Routledge Handbook of Literary Geographies (co-edited with Neal Alexander) and a critical monograph on the literary geographies of contemporary British and Irish place writing. For his contribution to PLACE 2021, David has reflected on what it means to be immersed in place and place writing.
