PHILLIPPA BEVIN

Phillippa Bevin is a Manchester-based writer who through the COVID-19 pandemicexperienced a profound change in her relationship to her hometown after having to catchthe last flight out of Paris and move back into her parents’ house at the beginning of 2020.Through theturbulent year that followed, she found herself rediscovering the beauty ofnature that lurks in overgrown railways, forgotten landfill sites, and the narrow paths thatconnect these pockets of greenery to the grey streets. Her submission for PLACE 2021comes from her undergraduate dissertation which explores this changing relationshipbetween herself and the world outside her front door.
