EMILY OLDFIELD
Born in Burnley, Emily Oldfield is a poet, place writer and journalist who grew up in Rossendale, Lancashire. Her debut poetry pamphlet, Grit, was published by Poetry Salzburg in March 2020. In the same year, she was selected as one of Penned in the Margins's Edgelandia artists: a project for which she produced a series of 'diaries' - based on walks featuring Andrew Michael Hurley, Richard Skelton and others - exploring the history, topography and mystery of Winter Hill. Emily took the creative-critical 'Writing & Place' unit in the final year of her undergraduate degree in the Department of English at Manchester Metropolitan University.
