ELA KIR

Ela Kır is a Turkish / British 21 year old filmmaker who was born in Istanbul, Turkey but spent most of her childhood in South Africa and now lives in the UK. Ela’s passion for the visual arts started at a very young age. Her dedication enabled her to build a substantial portfolio which led her to starting university at the age of 16. She recently graduated from the University of Essex after completing a Film Studies BA Hons degree.  In 2018 her documentary A Little Bit Like Calm was screened at film festivals around the world, was selected as the best documentary at the Prodigy Film Festival and received a special mention for the best international submission at Mojo Italia Film Festival. Her recent film Seriously, 2020... was made as a result of unexpected circumstances where she documented her personal experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
